Increase Optin Rates on Your Squeeze Page

Provided you have something worth trading for your prospective customers email, there are a few things you can do to test your squeeze page to help improve conversion rates.

Increase Conversion Rates

Make sure you know your audience well. If you haven’t done the research to be able to draw up your precise customer avatar – you will always have difficulty selling to mismatched traffic.

One – You have to know your client.
Once you have that, the next step is to know if your offer is a good match. People who hate cats won’t take a free one even when they have a house full of mice. People who love cats will pay thousands for one.

Niche down your offer too. If someone has found your webpage about “How to market on Facebook”, to increase optin rate, make sure your offer is about how to market on Facebook and nothing else. Not Pinterest, not Twitter, not Social Media -> Facebook!

If this is their first transaction with you then only ask for their email. Unless you really need their name for some other reason you have a better chance of getting an email without asking for their name too.

Some people feel that having at least a first name allows you to personalize your communications but the drawback to this is sometimes people enter profanity or negative names instead of their real name anyway. This means that if you are trying to personalize your emails some people are getting “Dear ButtHead” in their inbox.

If you do want more information from them then try a two step sign up sheet. At least collect their email on the first page so it won’t be lost if they bail out on the second.

Make your call-to-action buttons match the offer to increase optin rate. Instead using the stock buttons, have buttons made that connect with the desired result. Rather than “submit” or “click for your report” try “Yes! Tell Me How to Profit!”

Two – Use pop-ups and exit pop’s.
For the most part people don’t like pop-ups. But as much as people hate them they do work. By making your squeeze page a pop-up instead of just using an optin form, people will be inspired to at least look at it.

The best thing to do with pop-ups is to test them. The only way you will know if it has a positive or negative effect on your specific audience is by testing. You can also try a pop up that only has a “click here” call to action that will then take them to your squeeze page.

Use an exit pop off your squeeze page too. Add one more bribe, or one more reminder why signing up to your list is a good idea.

Three – Use a quiz.
Using a quiz get people to participate and they will want to know what their results are.

Make a quiz part of your squeeze page and offer a really great bribe that goes with the quiz. This way you can leave a “cliffhanger” that they really want the answer to.

The VERY best way to increase your conversions is to always test, test, test.
