Having your own home business is great! It leaves you free to travel if your business is online, or freer to take vacations on your terms when you desire.
I was reminded of this just a few weeks ago. I was sitting on my back deck, semi-reclined in the deck chair with my laptop, in the sun – scrolling through the Facebook posts of my friends news feeds and feeling very fortunate.
Their photos were of snow piled up so high that people couldn’t even see out of their windows. Other images captured on Facebook were of friends and family shovelling the snow out of their driveways and digging out their buried trucks and cars.
There were also a few happy pictures of tanned faces on tropical beaches where some of the lucky ones had been able to escape the cold for a couple of weeks.
These are the times when I realize just how lucky I am to have a business that allows me to have relaxed time in the sun.

The great thing about making your living independantly is knowing that at the end of the hustle and bustle you get to take the time and reap the rewards. This is where the efforts that went toward building a “passive income” start to pay off.
During the development of your business – you work. During the list building – you work. During the info-product development – you work. During the launch – you work. After the launch – you work.
But then – the reward!
Once most of the technical and customer issues have been addressed, you will then have the opportunity to experience the true auto pilot reward of having an online business.
Most people quit before they get to this stage of leisure. They quit because most people won’t tell them it can take MONTHS or YEARS. They believe a $7 book will tell them everything they need to know. Even if it did tell them all they needed, most folks won’t do the work required.
You can ride this coasting lull for a while too – if that’s what you choose to do. Although, you might notice that most of the top successful business owners will just turn their attention to the next project. Selling and marketing is not just about the money. It is also about facing new challenges and defeating them.

As far as being at the right place at the right time – we are all at the right place and right time – all the time. The truth of success is quite simply knowing that if you still don’t have what you want it’s because you haven’t done what you needed to do to get it. It’s as simple as that!
